Guide: Every cinema discount in Sydney

Compiled by Matthew Donlan

It's tough out there Fleas! Money's tight right now so to help ease the pressure I've compiled every discount and membership type offered by the cinemas of Sydney. This is your one-stop guide to help you celebrate cinema and save your bank account too!

PALACE CINEMAS:
The home of international film festivals, Palace offers several great discounts. They recently expanded to two cheap days with $12 tickets for non-members on Monday and Tuesday ($10 for members). Students and seniors get an extra day with $15 tickets on Wednesdays for non-members ($13 for members).
Speaking of the membership, Palace offers a free and paid tier, with points going towards purchases at the box office and discounted tickets.

DENDY:
In the heart of Newtown, Dendy boasts an eclectic programme for cinephiles. They have almost every day covered with a deal, beginning with half-priced tickets on Member Mondays. Cheap Tuesday is available with $13 tickets for everyone on all regular sessions. Seniors get $13 tickets every Wednesday and students get $13 tickets every Thursday.
For memberships, Dendy offers a free and paid option ($18 per year). The paid option offers scaling rewards the more you visit, so make sure its right for you before signing up!

RITZ:
If you're blue and don't know where to go...
The Ritz offers a great start to the week for students with $8 tickets for members and $12 for non-members on Mondays. Cheap Tuesdays also offers $12 tickets ($8 for members). Meanwhile seniors get $12 tickets every weekday before 4pm ($10 for members).
On the membership, the Ritz also has free and paid options with the paid option letting you bring a friend on a discount and access to previews.

GOLDEN AGE:
Hiding in the Hills of Surry, the boutique cinema offers $12.50 tickets for Film Club members every Tuesday, as well as discounts on all tickets each day for members. The best perk is the free cocktail popcorn each time you arrive!

HAYDEN ORPHEUM:
Over the bridge, the Orpheum has $13.50 tickets for students on Mondays and discounts on Tuesdays starting from $15.50. While they don't have a membership programme, you can buy an online voucher and save on bookings.

HOYTS:
While we don't usually like to include the cineplexes here at the Fleapit, we're making an exception for the discount! Hoyts offers $13.50 tickets for Cheap Tuesdays and $12 tickets for Sunday morning sessions. Plus, members get access to a $12 ticket for Hoyts' movie of the week. Members get discounts on all tickets and free popcorn refills!

EVENT CINEMAS:
The deals at Event Cinemas are only available to Cinebuzz members (which is free to sign up for) including half-priced tickets for students on Mondays, and half-priced tickets (including IMAX) for everyone on Cheap Tuesday.

...

Well that's all of them! I hope this makes your life a little easier! Bookmark, share it with friends and spread the good word of cinema!

Pick of the Week
If it's not already sold out, you MUST come to Shot on Shit hosted by the Collective of Underground Movie Lovers at the Botany View Hotel. It's been such a great time being on the jury, and as many people as possible should see these wonders!
